† Diablo’s Wife

Her eyes became a mirror to my soul,
black as the shell she left behind,
french-kissed by Lucifer’s blasphemic tongue.
Fucked by demons whent the clock struck twelve,
she awoke as a nightmare incarnate
and she ceased to be my lover.
Catholic priests couldn’t save her.
Their holy water burned her flesh and my touch
caused the sinful being to thresh,
incantations upset her and prayers enraged her.
So long my lover,
she has been taken by the devil.
No religion has the power to save her,
for she embraced darkness, allowed it to taint her.
Every scar on her body, I’ll inflict it on myself
for I was her hero and I failed
to provide liberation.
