† “Twisted Fairytale” Project

It seems that we are all drawn to these fairy tales, enticed by the thought that we could all achieve the happy ending we deserve. Men are heroes that save the damsels in distress and the women are all beautiful and are the object of everlasting affection. But what happens after the famous happy ending? What happens if something were to go wrong? This is your job, my fellow writers.

I know you all have experienced heartbreak. It is the most famous source of inspiration. So I want you to think of that moment in life where misery almost took over your soul, when your heart was broken so badly that you were at the verge of depression. Remember that moment well. Got it? Okay, good. Now use a classic fairytale and plague the characters with your emotion. Turn their world around and use your past to give that tale a twist of your own. If a happy ending didn’t exist, where would they be? If your pain was theirs to feel, how would their story end?
