† Triumphs&Defeat

Humans are beasts by nature. They don’t live to tell stories of your triumphs. They lurk around, hidden by unholy shadows, watching your every move. The very moment you lose your way, the moment when you set foot in the territory of darkness and you fall down, their hunger worsens. That’s when they come for you. That’s when they glorify your mistakes and point it out for the whole word to see.

Humans love spectacles. They feed on misfortune. Why is it that we rush to see fires even though it doesn’t concern our lives? Why do we wonder about who is in the ambulance? We  love to see others fall from glory. But when the victim is us, we suddenly feel pain.

Truth is, sometimes your victories mean nothing at all. But when it all falls down and you’re at your worst, people will go out of their way to get a second glance. They’ll laugh at your misfortune. They’ll feel better about themselves for a second, and the whole process repeats again.

Humans have an insatiable hunger to seek out defeat in others.

† A new year does not always mean change.

You can think it’s going to erase all the bad memories. You can think that your slate will be wiped clean. But the truth is that it won’t. A new year is just another day to wake up to, no difference whatsoever. It won’t be like some sort of magic that’s going to rescue you. You’ve got to be the change that you want to see. People expect life to bring you back to where you were, but in all honestly, you’re that change you’re hoping for. You have to want it that bad. Then the rest will just fall together, and you’ll have the 2012 you’re longing for.

I hate when you’re having a conversation with someone and they just go away or something and act as if they’re suddenly busy. Same with texting. Or phone calls. Honestly, if you don’t want to talk then just say so. It’s not like I’d be begging for you to stay. But don’t fucking lie about it or just suddenly stop talking.

I refuse to believe that we now live in a society where a woman gets the idea and strongly believes that artificial beauty is required for acceptance. Fuck the make up and plastic surgery, true beauty lies beyond that.

Haha, dumb bitch posting a quote on facebook and listing the source as tumblr. That’s like doing a research paper and quoting google in MLA format.

Stupid ass.

† Hunter/Past.

Some people try so hard to shed their past and live a sheltered life, but what I’ve learned is that the past will manifest itself as a hunter and you’ll be forced to run as if you were its prey. It turns into a game of survival, for the past will aim to break your pathetic disguise and it will aim to expose you for who you truly are.

Is worth losing yourself in the process of finding a new identity? A broken, false version of the real you? If that’s the life you want to live, then so be it. But beware of the hunter that wields weapons that aim to destroy you, for the past will never allow itself to simply die quietly. Either you, or it, will have to perish. If the past is who you truly are, you’ll never make it out alive. Because it’s not just a past, it is you in the present, and it will be you in the future.

Let the games begin, deceiver.

I think we’re all lost, one way or another… Is there truly such a thing as being found? We’re slowly discovering bits and pieces of who we really are day by day. We aren’t whole. We were never meant to be.

Stay lost and refuse to be found. There’s beauty in what lies hidden.

† Street Pharmacy, Solid Death.

Take away that feeling of euphoria. Take away that feeling of unrealistic happiness, and you’re still stuck in the same shithole prior to you injecting, snorting, smoking, ingesting, hitting… and the list goes on.

If one must do drugs in order to have fun, where’s the sense of joy in that? In truth, you’re living in a moment of illusion. You’re not really having fun; you’re creating that sense of joy, that sense of laughter that seems so real and permanent is only a temporary effect.

This lifestyle isn’t really a lifestyle, to be honest. It’s a path of disillusionment that will eventually lead to an inevitable downfall. It’s sick how everyone thinks drugs are a mood enhancement. Okay, sure. Marijuana never hurt anyone. I’ll admit that I’ve done it I still do it. But how about the hardcore drugs that eat the core of your soul and transform you into something unrecognizable? The drugs that lead you down this descent; an everlasting descent into a fate you’ll never escape from? What’s so good about them that you have to sacrifice portions of your life? What sense of accomplishment does one gain from that?

You’re killing yourself. Life won’t let you go, drugs won’t make you immortal. So how about we give up that game and hand that shit over? Cut it out of your life? Because you only have one life to live, and drugs… well, it’s death’s way of tempting you to die.

† ‘Til divorces do them part.

I think marriage nowadays is nothing but a joke. I mean, look at Kim Kardashian. She manages to plan the most extravagant wedding in order to prove her riches, but when it comes to proving her undying love, it ultimately fails as she filed for divorce soon after that.

This is what I mean. I respect the value of marriage. Growing up and watching my parents continue to fall in love with each other and find the most smallest of ways to fall deeper into that emotional connection has really inspired me and has shaped me for the better. I know that marriage is a long-term committment that requires both individuals to be entirely sure that that is the person they would be perpetually bound to. A person that may have flaws, but their partner would look past it and redefine the term unconditional. I believe that marriage binds the souls of two people and a divorce destroys it. With that being said, I find it repulsive that our divorce rates in this modern day are so fucking high. I find it disgusting that heterosexuals are allowed marriages that they take so lightly when there are gay people truly in love, that would love to have a taste of what marriage may bring them. I find it extremely wrong and pathetic that this world has managed to scrutinize such a wonderful event and turn it into a joke.

I’d rather not marry. I have no intent to get married. My mindset is made up. I will only change this decision if someone is important enough… if someone is persistent enough to change my perspective. In making this a challenge, I know that I won’t make the same mistake as everyone else. I will not allow myself to rush into something as valuable as that.

† Facade.

The only thing I envy about those who have been salvaged by religion is that they usually turn out to be a better person than they have been in the past.

But in the same sense, I know that some of you use religion as a disguise to hide who you really are. The bullshit’s been overdone time and time again, using god as a scapegoat to symbolize your sudden escape from your sins. Using the bible as away to justify their actions and twist the words around to defend their particular stance.

Religion won’t just kill the incarnation of your past selves. It can hide it far from anyone’s reach, but given the right situations I almost guarantee that the monsters in your soul will resurface and you’ll find yourself staring face to face at the person you thought you left behind.

† Jigsaw.

I love the Saw movies. Being a fan of gore and blood, these movies deliver these and so much more. With each of the movies, a twist leaves you haunted at the end and anxious for the next film to come out. But the anti-hero, Jigsaw (alias of John Kramer) is purposely set up as a God figure in these films, and is probably the most interesting character that has entered the horror genre in a long time.

First of all, Jigsaw never killed any of his victims. They were always given a choice, albeit via a very extreme way of choosing life or death, but the point is that the character of Jigsaw is improperly labelled as a serial killer when in truth, he has never killed once. What was so interesting about his character was that although his traps were gruesome and indirectly tortured these people, he wanted them all to survive. He wanted them to face death and turn away, in order to be reborn as someone new… someone who could throw away their past sins and live life on a new path. Sort of a reincarnation.

I seriously think Jigsaw deserves more commendation than any of our past killers. Jason, Michael, Freddy… none of these guys had such an interesting character as John Kramer. A demented psychopath, yet whose intentions are grounded on good intentions? It almost sounds impossible. But Jigsaw has done it.
